Ponte de Lima
This course was designed by 2 former Portuguese Professionals Daniel and David Silva and was opened in 1995, being neatly divided into 2 contrasting 9’s.
The front 9 runs up and over a mountainside with forests of English Oak and Cork trees with some spectacular views over the Lima Valley notably the Par 3 8th. From an elevated tee to attack the green you have to hit across a wooded ravine that is protected by steep slopes rather than sand or water.
The back 9 is played on comparatively flat land, amongst the old orchard farms and vineyards of the region.
The designer should be commended for creating very playable golf holes across difficult terrain.
"Both course pointe de lima and Estela were in fantastic condition and staff around hotel and golf course very accommodating."
- Mr. J. Boden -
"We thoroughly enjoyed Estela, Ponte de Lima & Amarante..."
- Mr. M. Townsend -
"Once again in good condition. This is a difficult course, very hilly and long walks from green to tee...Would strongly recommend using a buggy."
