The Costa Azul (Blue coast) is an unspoiled golf region that covers the coastline south of Lisbon and across to the Vasco Da Gama Bridge. The main towns in the region are Costa da Caparica, Setubal, Troia and Sesimbra.
Besides the imposing Arrábida Mountains, the long coastline of sandy beaches, picturesuque harbours and 2 estuaries, the region also stretches inland with rich farmlands and vineyards, where numerous charming country towns and villages can be found.
The region is host to some wonderful wines, quality fresh fish, some dramatic scenary and a school of wild dolphins, thankfully living wild and free in the River Sado's Estuary.
The eight golf courses in the region really do offer the best value for money, in terms of price to quality, in Portugal. Good enough to have hosted championship golf, they have been firm favourites of the travelling golfer for many years.
